Disclosure - Your duty to give information

It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy and when you renew your insurance. It is important that you ensure that all statements you make on proposal forms, claims forms, and other documents are full and accurate. Failure to disclose information pertaining to your insurance or any inaccuracies in information given could result in your insurance policy being invalid or cover not operating fully. If you are unsure as to what constitutes a material fact please contact our office for guidance. You are advised to keep copies of any correspondence you send to us or direct to your insurer. If you are in any doubt about whether information is material you should disclose it.

Payment

To be able to offer you credit facilities we are registered under the consumer credit act and our licence number is 523650. We accept payment by guaranteed cheque or the following credit cards - Visa, Mastercard, Switch or Delta. You may be able to spread your payments through insurers instalment scheme or a credit scheme that we have arranged with a third party finance provider. We will give you full information about your payment options when we discuss your insurance in detail. We will hold monies received from you in a designated statutory trust insurance bank account. We will remit such monies to insurers inline with our agency agreements with them. We require customers consent for treatment of interest earned on the client account for amounts of more than £20.

Charges

As an independent registered broker we are paid commission by your insurance company details of which are available on request. We also make the following charges to cover the administration of your insurance. With effect from 1/1/2006 - new Policies £15, mid term adjustments £15, uncleared cheques £15, lost Certificates £15, Renewals £15.

Refunds

Refunds will be given net of commission received from underwriters less the mid term adjustment fee.

Renewals

Each and every renewal is analysed, for the majority we will phone you prior to renewal date to discuss. However, if we have been unable to make contact please feel free to telephone the office to discuss your renewal with a clerk.

Cancellation

Upon cancellation of a contract it should be noted that the insurers apply short period cancellation charges which are not proportionate to the annual premium and as these form part of the contract accepted we would ask clients to realise that such charges are made by the underwriters and not ourselves. In the event of an accident or claim occurring during the currency of the policy there may be no refund. In such an event whereby the premium is being paid by way of instalments any outstanding payments will be due. Legal protection cover / uninsured loss recovery and fees are non refundable.
